Doing Everything Else But Writing My NaNoWriMo Novel
58My Poor NaNoWriMo Novel
I am sitting here writing this short series of paragraphs instead of writing my NaNoWriMo novel. I have about 5,000 words to write today so I can catch up. I don’t know how I am going to do it. I just know that if I don’t I will most likely get so far behind that I may never get caught up for the month. This is what happens when I start to procrastinate.
What keeps me from Writing?
1. Laundry - I have about 5 loads of Laundry that need to be washed, dried and folded today.
2. Youtube - All my favorite Youtubers have released something I want to watch yesterday and today. I have to sit and watch all of them instead of writing.
3. Hubpages - I have been avoiding the creation of new hubpages for the month of November. The problem is I want to write new hubpages. I have so many ideas for subjects to write on hubpages, I am afraid that if I don’t write them now, I will forget them and they will be lost in the netherworld that is my brain.
4. Not really knowing what to write - I know if I just sit down and start writing, the story will form itself in my mind. The fact that I don’t really know where I am going with the story is something that makes me put if off. I have a very vague outline for the novel, but I have alread verged from that story slightly.
What can I do to Start Writing:
1. Set a Timer - I seem to have the best luck at writing when I just sit down for a certain amount of time and force myself to write. If I can do that then I may just be able to write the 5,000 word I need to write today.
2. Find a buddy online that I can have a Word War with. What is a word war? Basically you race to see how many words you can write in a certain amount of time. I have been able to hit 1,500 words in an hour.
3. Stop Writing this Hubpage and get back to my Novel.
ahh... OK. Talk you all later. Here I go... Back to work.
