Why does my memory fail me?

By rgasperson

I am not an old person i'm barely into my thirties, but I have found that i forget things more often than I should. I don't know why that is. I have a few ideas but I can't prove any of it.

What do I forget about the most? I forget the things that I don't have in front of me; the thing that are not staring me in the face. I have always said that if it is out of sight it will be out of mind. This isn't a good thing. I don't know how to change this aspect about my personality.

Here is a short list of some of the things I think attribute to my lack of memory. If you think there are other things that might cause my problem, please leave a comment.

  1. I work 65+ hours per week
  2. I don't have a routine schedule. My work hours are different every week.
  3. When I do gat to sleep it is either for 4-5 hours or for 10 hours with a few 30 minute naps here and there.
  4. I try to keep up with family activities and watch the youngest on my days off.

Needless to say, I am a busy person. In fact I don't think I have ever been this busy in my life. I hope this will be the busiest is will be for the rest of my life. I plan to be down to one job within a year. That will cut back on most of the stress and i can focus on my family and my career. Then I hope to be able to retire early in life.

Today I need to think of some ideas that will help my memory. There are several things I know I can do right now. If to know of any I have not listed below pleas let me know in the form of a comment.

  1. Take more notes. List the stuff I need to do.
  2. Fix my schedule into something a little more routine.
  3. Take some brain strengthening herbal supplements.
  4. Sleep more regularly
  5. Spend more time having fun with my family.
